Beautiful bird sketch by Stephanie, 2024
Beautiful artwork by Pete in a facility in Virginia.
"The newsletter was beautiful! I have always enjoyed everything you have sent me my whole time in prison. There is a place in the journal you sent me that asks the question, "Who helped bring you closer to God?" So I put you and my grandparents. Jessica
"Few people these days are as mindful of the plight of those of us who are incarcerated --- especially on holidays --- as you are. Even among the brethren the tendency toward recrimination and forgetfulness are the strongest sentiments directed our way. My own family, all of whom are professing followers of Christ, have abandoned the idea of that forgiveness is the most blessed commodity on the planet. It seems that people are more concerned with blind punishment than they are with blind justice. But this, too, I perceive is Biblical in nature and thus, to be prayed for as Paul would, "without ceasing." I cannot express to you in mere words the depths of sadness and loneliness that is often set in within the confines of this awful place. That is precisely why your continual attendance to us is so joyously anticipated and gratefully received". John, who passed away of cancer in 2022
"I am so thankful to God for bringing you to me. It's crazy to think that you have done more for me than my own family has. You have written to me more than they ever have. May you continue to bless others in Jesus' name." --James
"Thank you for the newsletters. They always make my week. The past two newsletters have been especially comforting. I’ve been having an extraordinarily difficult time lately. When I got your two newsletters, there was something in each that I needed. They came at the perfect time! I shared them with my bunkies also; they love them. So, when you asked what we are thankful for, I knew I wanted to tell you that I’m thankful for you. Thank you for seeing us.” ~Hadassah
"I never had a big sister to look up to with a positive role model in my life; I'm glad to look up to you because you lean on Jesus and you're not a "sometimes" Christian." ~Gabriela
"What I really enjoy about your ministry is the love you show towards us inmates. How nice it is to be flooded with cards, newsletters, and a personal letter back to back ---- It just reminded me of how good GOD is and no matter where you go, your spiritual family will find you." ~Bob
"Rochelle, will you write to this lonesome loser? Give me hope, some words of encouragement. " ~ Francis
"I get no mail and when the officer called my name I was surprised! Praise God that He knows exactly what I need." ~Corina
"As always, the Lord allowed me to receive something from you at the right time....." ~ Jeff
"Thank you for all your prayers, thoughts, letters and kind words." ~Steven
"I'm so thankful for everything you and Darren have done for me. I'm struggling with the thoughts of throwing in the towel. It is the fear of the unknown. Thank you for caring and not judging me." ~John
"I enjoy the newsletters and pass them on to the other guys in the unit!" ~Jon
"Thank you for writing and sharing things with me; it makes me realize that I'm not alone." ~Dan
"Thank you for your encouragement and Biblical reminders of the truth." ~ Colin
"Thank you for all you do with your newsletters. You brighten the lives of many. I loved hearing about your adventures this year. " Rich
"If it wasn't for you and God, I was all alone and I was already so low --- but I feel better now. When I got your mail I was in lock down, and I got comfort in a dark place." Gab
